Beginning July 1, 2024, all California employers with 10+ employees must establish a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan, which includes:
Workplace Violence Prevention Policy
Employer responsibility and employee participation
Effective procedures for reporting and responding to workplace violence
Assessment procedures to identify and evaluate risk factors
Timely correction of workplace violence hazards
Procedures for post-incident response and investigation
Periodic review of the plan
Violent Incident log (confidential)
Recordkeeping and access requirements
Additionally, California Employers must provide training on their Workplace Prevention Policy to all employees.
